Parade

We went to my cousins house to watch the parade again this year. It poured down rain the whole time we were driving there, then it seemed like the sun might take over about a half an hour before the parade. Just as it started, though, the storm let loose! So, the parade was mostly firetrucks, but the kids had fun. Sarah tried to hold all of her candy when she picked it up, she screamed if I put it in a bag for her. Cody picked up a bunch of tootsie rolls then spent the rest of the time on the porch eating them. Sarah and my cousins boy Sam were playing ring around the rosie. It was so cute that they wanted to keep holding hands!

Cousins

Last weekend, the girls came to stay at Grandma's house for the weekend, so we went up to hang out with them. We went to a couple different parks, and I had the kids go to the flowers so I could get some pics. Of course they didn't want to sit all together for a picture, but we had fun. They all loved running through the tunnel the most.
Sarah kept pointing at the flowers and saying "pretty". She is growing up so fast!

What a bunch of monkeys

Dana was a little diva. She loved posing for pictures, even if nobody would pose with her.

It's nice to have family to help you out!

New experiences..

Some new experiences are good, some not so good..... We have had such nice weather the last few weeks that we have been driving around with our sunroof open. The kids, especially Sarah, think it is wonderful. She waves her hands in the air the whole time! And, because the weather has been nice, we have been outside a lot and Cody got his very first bee sting. Of course, it was right on his cheek and his eye almost swelled shut. Poor guy!

4th fun

We had a lot of fun celebrating the 4th all weekend. Can you tell that I have been taking the new Jessica Sprague class for framing and embellishing photos? Anyway, a friend of ours came over on his new motorcycle and Sarah loved it! Of course, both of my kids love anything that has a motor.
Sarah was posing inside Mike's new cooler in her 4th garb while we were getting ready to go watch fireworks.

Cody and Sarah had a blast at the picnic. They both enjoyed riding in the tire swing.

Cody's favorite part was the gator ride, but being allowed to drink a pepsi probably came in a pretty close second!

On Sunday, we went to Mainstreet for lunch after church and the kids had fun strolling down by the river. Cody loves to give Sarah hugs and kisses, so much so that she screams. I hope they always love each other.

After lunch, we went fishing at a friend's pond. We went there because the fishing is good, so we thought the kids might not get bored as quickly. Cody caught a little fish on his first cast, and then a few more and then he was pretty much done. Sarah got to reel one in with daddy, then she was done too. Oh well!

New Toys

We may be bad parents, but we bought Cody a little 50cc 4-wheeler this weekend. He loves it and keeps asking to ride all the time, but he is not good enough to ride by himself yet.

Sarah was my little berry picking buddy the last few days. Our black raspberries have been coming on, and she loves to pick them, but I think she eats more than she throws in the bucket!

Lake Tobias

We went to Lake Tobias after church on Sunday. Cody was enchanted with the baby goat in the petting zoo. It was the end of the day by the time we got to the petting zoo, so none of the animals were very hungry, but the gatekeeper lady kept her head turned while Cody chased and carried the animals!

Sarah was not so into the goats after a big one grabbed on to her dress and pulled her across the pen. When we handed her some crackers to give to them, she ate them herself. Hope they were sanitary!

Cody was so cute. In this picture, it looks like he is nicely feeding the llama, but he was actually screaming, "Eat, eat!" Then he turned around and said, "The mmamma doesn't want to eat."

Funny that my son is climbing the fence to the monkey pen right next to the sign that says keep off. Perhaps he belongs on the other side of the fence!

Wheels and Stuff

Cody and Sarah were always fighting over our little bubble mower, so Mike's mom found one at a yard sale and brought it over. They have had a lot of fun mowing the yard together. Too bad it doesn't actually cut the grass!
Cody got new wheels for his birthday, and he was a little unsure about it at first, but now he is getting pretty good.

And of course, our evening summer ritual of the family four wheeler ride. (I am usually also on the four-wheeler) Both kids LOVE it, though Cody has been starting to say that he wants his own "huge" four wheeler to ride down the driveway.

I guess his little four wheeler isn't cutting it anymore. He gets mad when Sarah rides it, though. She just figured out how to push the buttons and make it go, which she loves, and she didn't want to get off the night I took these pictures (Cody was sleeping!) even though it was pouring down rain!
