summer fun

Cody and Mike went fishing with Mike's friends Joe and Amy and their daughter Alyssa. It was on Friday of last week, but all he has been talking about is the boat and how he wants to go-then he does some hand motions of casting and reeling. It is really cute.

I am not sure what is going on here!! She is a cutie pie, though, and I am sure they will LOVE it when they are older and I bring out this picture!
As for Sarah, well, she is just sweet Sarah. She is loving the baby food and now she is loving her feet. She can't quite get them into her mouth like Cody used to. I guess she got her flexibility from her mother!

1st parade

Cody and Sarah went to their first parade yesterday. We went to my cousin Travis's house and sat in his yard. It was awesome! Cody had such a good time. He was a little shy at first and sat off by himself so we were afraid that the people wouldn't throw any candy to him. It turned out to be a good thing, though, because he got to pick up all the candy that was thrown his way. He ended up with a paper sack full of tootsie rolls, lollipops, caramels and a yellow rubber cow! He waved at the fire trucks and laughed when the little shriner cars tooted their horns.

Uncle Matt's pool

We went swimming at Uncle Matt's house this weekend for Dana's birthday party. At first, Cody was afraid to be in the pool at all. It is probably the first time that he can remember that he has been in water he couldn't stand in. After Matt got the bumper boat out for him to ride in, he was sold and wanted to stay in the pool all day, but he still wouldn't get in the water. Finally, Mom just put him in the water and let go. When he found out he could float with his armies on, he was so excited. He paddled around and even jumped into the pool from the edge!
Sarah loved the pool from the start. She smiled and cooed and when Matt bounced her in the water she laughed out loud!

4th of July

Sarah has had a busy week. She celebrated the 4th in style and went to 3 picnics in 3 days. Then, she turned 4 months old on Sunday so we let her start eating food. Her very first food was applesauce at Hoss's after church and she loved it! For her second meal at home, she ate an entire jar of babyfood which is something that Cody never did even when he was older. Little Miss Independent wanted to hold her spoon and cup all by herself. At the doctor's, she weighed 13lb 8oz(50th percentile) and was 22.5 inches long(10th percentile). So now she is not just a peanut, she is a chubby peanut!

We took our first swim of the year last week. We went to Canoe Creek with my parents. Cody had a blast playing in the sand. He liked the water, too, as long as someone was holding his hand.
Sarah spent most of her time chilling in the car seat looking cute in her bathing suit. She did venture into the water for a little while, and she seemed to like it (or at least she didn't cry!)
