Walkin' Baby!

Sarah is walking a lot more now. She took her first steps the day after Christmas, but (as she has been with everything) she has been really nonchalant about it, only walking when she really feels like it and sometimes not for a week at a time. About 2 weeks ago, I tried to put her size 2 shoes on and they wouldn't fit, so I got out her new size 3's. As soon as I put them on her and set her down, she took 10 steps across my kitchen! Mike said they were magic moccasins. (I see a scrapbook page title!) Anyway, she is pretty proud of herself in these pictures!

Outside fun!

We finally got to go outside the last couple of days. Sarah was fascinated with the snow until I dumped the sled and she did a face-plant. Oops!
The kids both love the sled, though. Cody did a good job holding Sarah so I could pull both of them, and then of course last night when Mike came home from work, we hooked a sled to the 4-wheeler and drove around for a while.

Cody even pulled Sarah on the sled by himself. He was really proud. I put the rope around his waist and he said he was a horse! I didn't have my camera outside that time, though. Cody's least favorite part of the day....Coming in! Even though his hands and face were as red as can be, he cried and screamed when I made him come in the house. A little cocoa made things a lot better!

Inside fun

With the supercold weather, we have been spending a lot of time inside. Cody got some Lincoln Logs for Christmas, and he and Daddy love building various 4-wheeler sheds and hunting cabins.
Sarah has learned how to climb onto her car by herself. She can make it go, too, even though her legs don't touch the ground. She scoots herself to one side until one leg is touching, and she's off!

Silly fun

Sarah has her two bottom teeth now, and they must feel pretty strange because she has been walking around with her tongue out, rubbing over them. Makes for some funny photos, though!
Last weekend, we went to my brother's house to look through the girls' old clothes for Sarah. While I was in the basement doing that, the girls dressed Cody up in their princess outfits. He was mainly fascinated with the sequins. Looks nice with his brown socks!

On New Years Day, Grammy, Pappy and the 3 Greats came over for dinner. We had a nice time. Sarah was Pappy's girl, just hanging out and looking cute!

Hotel fun

We went to York last weekend to visit with Mike's family. We stayed in a hotel, which I was a little bit nervous about because I wasn't sure how the kids were going to sleep with us all in one room. They did fantastic, though, and they had fun exploring the room together.
They also enjoyed the pool. We spent an hour or so there each morning relaxing before going over to Nana's.

Baby steps!

We went to my Aunt Jeanne's house the day after Christmas. Sarah was cruising all over the place, then all the sudden she let go and took 2 steps all by herself to get to my dad. Way to go Sarah!

Christmas Day

I finally got a decent pic of the kids together on Christmas Eve. I made a special nightgown for Sarah to wear.
When Cody woke up on Christmas morning, he was very excited to see that Baby Jesus had indeed arrived in the manger of his nativity set.

Then he was even more amazed to come downstairs and look at all of the presents under the tree!

Sarah opened a few presents, but mostly she just liked to watch everyone else. This princess car from Grandma was one of her favorite presents.

The cousins were so cute sitting together on the couch to open their stockings!
