Toddler food groups

Cody's favorite food now is ketchup. Not ketchup on anything. Just ketchup. He likes to eat it with a spoon. Yuck!!! Anyway, the other night while I was making dinner, he got into the cupboard and got out a new bottle of ketchup. Then, he got into the dishwasher and got out a bowl. He climbed up on my chair and tried to pour himself some. Thankfully it had an inner seal! He was very pleased with himself, though, for trying to get his own dinner.

Our latest experiment has been trying to get Cody to sleep in the toddler bed so that the crib will be free when the baby comes. Saturday night he made it the whole night long, but last night we were back to 4 hours. We'll keep trying!

Christmas presents

This year was lots of fun because Cody actually opened his own presents. In fact, he enjoyed it so much, that when I had presents sitting in the kitchen to go out to the car for Mike's family, he tried to open those too! One of his favorite presents was his chain saw. After he opened it, he tried to open the rest of the presents with it! He also loves his John Deere from Grandma and PapPap.

More Christmas pics

Besides taking Cody to get his picture taken by himself, we also had a family portrait done. They tried to take some pics of Cody alone, but he was firmly attached to Mike. In fact, he wouldn't even let me hold him for any of the family photos. When Mike handed him to me, he would scream bloody murder until Mike took him back. He sure is Daddy's boy!

Snow much fun!

Cody has been wanting to go outside every day, so I decided to bundle him all up and take him out sledding today. He loved riding in the sled, but after about half an hour I got tired of pulling him. He got out and ran around checking out all of his toys and wiping the snow off of them. Then he fell down and his face got in the snow. At first, he was upset, but then he started licking the snow and he loved it! My silly boy.

Christmas tree hunting

We went to get our Christmas tree this weekend. It was raining, so we actually just picked a tree that was already cut, but we rode around the loop on the horse and carriage. The carriage driver even let Cody sit up front with him and drive. He had a blast! He didn't even mind that he wasn't sitting with us!

I only planned to get one picture taken, but

several of them turned out cute, so of course, I got way more than I planned! Cody especially liked sitting in the sled, but he got really upset when they tried to put the bag of toys in with him.
