Bobbleheads

We drove up to State College the other day to buy Cody a bigger helmet for his 4-wheeling because it hurts his ears to take this one off. The man at the store advised us that Cody's helmet is fitting him nicely and we shouldn't get a bigger one. They did, however, have a girl's helmet on sale for half price, and once Sarah put it on, she didn't want to take it off. So, we didn't get what we went for, but now we have a matching set of bobbleheads!

Bear!

The other day, Cody was napping on the couch and Sarah and I were making dinner. All the sudden, I looked outside and saw a bear walking around my car. I thought that Cody wouldn't want to miss it, since the two of them are always talking about bears and growling. I tried to wake him up, "Cody, Look! Look! There's a bear!" Well, Cody didn't wake up, but Sarah shrieked in pure terror. I was so surprised! The bear didn't hang around too long after that, turns out he was scared of us too!

Great Wolf

Our family vacation happened a little early this year, since we will be pretty busy this summer! We went to Great Wolf Lodge and got a room that had bunk beds in a little cabin for the kids. They LOVED playing in it....sleeping, not so much. Oh well, maybe next time!

Even the restaurants were cool. The one we ate in when we first got there was supposed to make you feel like you were in a tent!

Sarah discovered that she could float with her vest on. She would walk all around, then suddenly let herself fall backwards and float, laughing the whole time.

Both kids enjoyed splashing in the jets of water.

They really got along well, maybe because they didn't know anyone else, but they hung out together a lot and followed each other anytime one went down a slide, the other one had to, too.

They did this green slide together about a hundred times. The guy at the top just laughed because they would come running up together and Cody would try to get Sarah to go down the one beside it so they could race, but she wanted to do exactly what he was doing!

The orange slide was probably Sarah's favorite. While Cody and Daddy were off riding the big slides, she spent her time on this one. She did it for a couple hours straight! No napping during this trip, too much to do!

Mike did all of the slides and Cody did all but the 2 he wasn't allowed on, but I don't have any good pictures of them. They had a blast though, and I am sure we will be visiting here again someday!

Easter pics

I took the kids to get Easter portraits done. I wasn't really hopeful because the last few times I took them, they were fairly uncooperative and last year they were terrified of the ducks and bunnies. To my delight, they were awesome! It was hard to pick, there were so many cute ones!

The bunny was a big hit. Sarah kept picking him up and carrying him over to me! The bunny was very hungry, though and was eating up the fake carrots and flowers. He even took a little nibble on Sarah's leg, which totally freaked her out!

Happy Birthday Sarah!

We took the kids to Slinky to celebrate Sarah's birthday. As soon as we got there, both kids took off with no fear. Sarah climbed up this rope ladder then through a tube....
She waved at us through this peek hole, then......we couldn't find her for about 10 minutes! Just when we were starting to panic, we found her lying in a tube at the other end. I guess she got lost and just layed down! A little girl offered to go up and help her down, then she was content to play in the toddler area until Dana and Destiny got there.

Once she had Dana by her side, she was once again without fear.

They had lots of fun sliding down everything together.

As the day was winding down, the kids wanted to ride on all the cars. This was just a nice pic of them all together.

We went back to Grammy's house for cake and ice cream. Sarah tried to blow out her candles, but she ended up needing a little help to get the job done.

She really enjoyed her minnie mouse cupcake.

And of course her presents! I can't believe how big she is already!

Big girl bed

Yesterday morning when Sarah cried and I went to get her, she was standing in her room outside of her crib! I had the toddler bed set up since Christmas, but she hadn't been interested in sleeping in it, so we hadn't pushed the issue, but I guess it is time! So, yesterday afternoon, I put her down for her nap in the toddler bed and she screamed her head off for an hour then fell asleep on the floor in front of the gate. I figured it was going to be just like Cody- 2 weeks of nighttime torture before he got used to it. Then, at bedtime, I put her in the toddler bed and left and......not a peep! She slept there all night. Now I know that this might be a fluke just because she was so tired from the messed up nap, but....a girl can be hopeful, right?

Oh Big Brother!

This is what happens when mommy gets on the phone and doesn't pay attention to what the kids are doing. Cody got Sarah's bag of barrettes out of the diaper bag and proceeded to put all of them in her hair. I honestly can't believe that she let him. What a pair! Also notice his stylin' slinky belt!
My mom got the kids these tubs as Easter baskets last year, and they just love to pretend they are boats. Why do we have so many toys? The simplest things amuse them. Anyway, Sarah was ready for her nap, but didn't want to miss out on any action, so she took her blankies and her binky and curled up in her "boat." She was very disappointed that I didn't let her sleep there!
