Little Hunter Too

Sarah has taken an interest in Cody's turkey calls lately. This morning she was even wearing his hat while she tried to call in a big gobbler.
Cody wasn't feeling well today, so he slept alot. Sarah took full advantage of his absence and played with all of the things that he normally does not let her touch. She had on his little backpack full of Cars cars and she was trying to shoot his bow. I asked Cody if he thought Sarah might go hunting with Daddy and he said, "Sarah will go hunting with me!"

spring is here!

We try to head outside every day that it is nice. Sarah stands at the door pointing and screaming until we do! She is such a happy little girl. Give her a plastic bag and she can entertain herself for hours!
Today we discovered that she can climb over half way up the rock wall on their playset. I couldn't believe it. She is such a little monkey.

Hands down, though, the winner of the favorite outdoor activity prize is the sandbox. I don't know what it is about sand.....

Easter fun

On Saturday we went to mom's house to celebrate Easter and color eggs. She had 72 eggs for the 4 kids, and they had a blast. Cody sat with Uncle Matt the whole time.
Sarah sat with Grandma. She was a little tentative at first, but by the end she was throwing her eggs in the cups and reaching right in to get them out!

When we went out to hunt the eggs, I put a bonnet on her that I had when I was a little girl. She looked so cute!

Cody really liked running around gathering up eggs. It's amazing how much he changes every year.

Easter pictures

I took Cody and Sarah to get Easter pictures done with the chicks and bunnies thinking that they would really enjoy the animals. To my surprise, they were terrified. Oh well. We didn't get that many pictures, but the ones we did get were pretty good!

Cody is in love with his necktie. He didn't want to take it off when we left.

Sarah, on the other hand, is trying to take everything off. She has started removing her barrettes shortly after I put them in her hair.

This is the only way Cody would be near the bunnies. Even then, when they poked their heads out of the basket he would scream and fly off of the bench. Sarah just wouldn't sit still anywhere. Everything was low enough for her to get right up, so she did.

It looks like he loves his sister!

Even though the kids are not looking in this picture, it is Mike's favorite. After they were done and Cody got up, he was VERY annoyed that he had hay stuck to his pants. What a little neat freak.

Where's my baby?

It seems like overnight Sarah is leaving babyhood and turning straight into a toddler. She is trying to say some words. When you hand her something, she says "kee-koo" which we think is thank you. In this picture, she was eating a bowl of goldfish and when it was empty she came over to the counter and said "gol" and pointed. Oh my!
She is also getting very adept at eating with silverware. She still makes quite a mess, but she is very proud of herself.

And she loves brushing her teeth! Something that Cody despises to this very day. Maybe her enthusiasm will rub off on him.

Cody has been up to the usual with his daddy. Hunting, hunting and more hunting. On this day, Cody "shot" his stuffed puppy and bear and strung them up on the "skinning pole" (treadmill) to cut them up. No one will ever say he is not imaginitive!

Birthday party

I made Sarah's cakes for her birthday party. We all ate the big barbie cake and Sarah got the little one all to herself. At first she just kept sticking her finger into the same spot and sucking the icing off, then she dug in and ate a whole side.

Cody had fun helping her. He had been dying to do it since the day before when I made the cake while she was napping!

She let her cousins and brother open most of her presents, but she carried the boxes and the presents around to show everyone what she got.

She open one present all by herself. So much fun! Uncle Matt showed her where all the pieces go in her dollhouse, and how to work the little toilet.

Sarah really liked pushing around her new shopping cart. Cody also really likes it. I took Sarah for her one year appointment yesterday. She was 19 lb 5 oz and 28.65 inches long. Still a peanut! The appointment was uneventful except the doctor told me that when she passes out I should let her lay there until she comes around because the blood will flow to her head faster! Yikes.

Birthday portraits!

I just got my e-proofs from Sarah's birthday picture sitting. I couldn't wait until her birthday to post them. She is still at an age where she likes to get her pictures taken, or maybe it is different for girls, but she had a great time!

I so wanted to wear the hair clippy that matched her dress, and Shelby gave me the idea to put a gummy in her hair first. It stayed in just long enough for the photo shoot. Thanks, Shelby!

She walks all over the house pretending to talk on the phone, so the photographer grabbed a few shots of her while I was trying to get Cody settled down.

I really wanted to get a picture of her where you could see her little shoes, but this was the only full length one and she wasn't looking. Oh well! It's still adorable.

I wasn't planning to have any pictures of Cody taken, but she slipped one in while I was changing Sarah's outfit. Not bad!
