Sitting pretty

An amazing thing has happened since Sarah is pretty well able to sit on her own. I can put the kids in the bath tub together and they have a great time splashing and playing. What a wonderful way to wind down a day! As you can see, Sarah is very happy to be a big girl.
I took Sarah for her six month appointment on Tuesday. She weighed 15lb 15oz and was 25.25 inches long. Still a peanut! She was only upset about the shots for a few minutes. I think she looks a little bit like Minnie Mouse in her red shirt!

Seems like forever since I have posted. It is not that we haven't been doing stuff, I guess we have just been too busy to post! Cody and Sarah are playing together a lot. He really likes that she is able to do a little bit more, but of course he always tries to push the limits.
What a dad!
Sarah finally got her foot up to her mouth. She loves sucking on her big toe. The other day at our church picnic, she was eating baked beans and in between bites, she would put her toe in her mouth. When she was done, her foot was covered in baked bean sauce! Yuck, sticky feet!
On Friday, we went to Penn's Cave to the Antique tractor show. Cody's favorite parts were the "corn box" and the petting zoo. They had a little barrel train that he was really interested in. He kept telling us that he wanted to ride in it, but we waited in line 3 times to get on, and everytime we tried to put him in he screamed to be out. Crazy little man. After dark, they had the steam tractor pulls. The noise scared him a little at first, but as long as someone was holding him, he loved it. He kept saying "choo-choo" because they sound like trains!

Ag progress days

I took the kids up to Ag progress days on Wed and Thurs. We met up with Kirstin and her boys and my cousin Sheila and her 4 kids. The boys had a blast climbing in all of the tractors.

Here are all 8 kids together! It was nice to have the older kids there too because they helped out with the little ones.
One of the ag groups were handing out apples. Sarah was so excited. She gnawed on it all afternoon.
We thought the Shaver's Creek tent would be a big hit with the kids. They did enjoy looking at the exhibits, but preferred to play hide and seek and throw grass at one another instead of listening to the presentation. Oh well!

Sarah's pictures

I took Sarah to get portraits done on Monday. She did really well, and the photographer was fantastic. Here are just a few of the poses. She opens her mouth as big as she can when she smiles!

Potty time

I will probably get heck for putting this pic on the blog, but I thought it was really funny. Lately Cody has been showing an interest in his potty and the last 3 or 4 mornings, he took his own diaper off then sat on the potty reading books! Too funny. (He usually does this right after he has gone in his diaper, but oh well, it is a start!)

Let's race!

We finally made it to see my brother race last night. It was fan appreciation night where all the drivers bring their cars onto the track at intermission and sign autographs and give out candy. Cody wore his little race car driver suit. Everyone thought he looked really cute, and he stayed warm! Dana and Destiny helped him down on the track, and he got to sit on the hood of Uncle Matt's car.

Here he is watching the late models race with Uncle Matt.
This is Dana with a piece of Airheads in her mouth. What a riot!
Sarah was a little bothered by the noisy cars at first, but she eventually fell asleep and stayed that way through most of the night.

Lazy days

Sarah is such a big girl now. She loves her exersaucer and plays and jumps and coos. I thought people were full of it when they told me that Sarah looks like me because I think that she looks a lot like Cody who looks like Mike. But in this picture, she looks exactly like some baby pictures of me. Who knows, maybe she will end up with the best of each of us!
Cody just cannot let his sister alone. He constantly wants to hold her and roll around on the floor with her. In a few months I think it will be good because she will be big enough to hold her own, but of course by then he probably won't want anything to do with her. This was a cute pic of him hugging her on the floor the other day. My little sweethearts!
